Background
The New England colony Connecticut was founded by Adrian Block, John Old hen, and Thomas Hooker from 1614-1633. Rhode Island was founded by a preacher named Roger Williams 1636. Massachusetts was founded by a group of Separatists Protestants led by William Bradford in 1620-1630. New Hampshire was founded by John Mason in 1625.
Social
The New England Colonies life typically centered around religion, mainly puritan. Social Classes were fairly equal, and the only difference between classes was the responsibility each had to the community.
Economy
In the New England Colonies there were lots of jobs. Jobs included fishing, farming, whaling, and local Trade. Products imported were natural resources and some equipment were shipped in from the coast.
Geography
The New England Colonies had geographical features like red clay soil, hills, forests, and poor soil fertility. It also had cold winters and hot summers. Some natural resources were trees, rivers, plants and metallic. Maine was actually a piece of land that Massachusetts owned. New Hampshire and New York both owned the area know as (Vermont today), therefor Vermont did not exist.
Government
The structure of New England's Colonies government was based on a democracy with representatives. One of the documents created was the Fundamental orders of Connecticut. The freedoms for citizens of the New England colonies did not last long. Only white men had certain freedoms and rights.
